crashed big time!

it was on a rain slick bike path and i was going too fast in a turn and my tires lost grip and down I went hard.i have a messed up shoulder and my leg hurts. I hate taking the bus!

Mr. Hairy Legs 01-27-13 11:14 PM

That sucks. Get well soon.

canyoneagle 01-27-13 11:28 PM

Oh, man that sucks.
Heal up well, and watch those slick turns. ;)

GrouchoWretch 01-27-13 11:31 PM

The pavement is slickest when the rain is just starting or is very light, especially in dry climates. The dust on the road becomes an extremely thin layer of slippery mud.

Heal up fast!

That's the only way to truly learn, unfortunately. If you're a "glass half full" kind of guy, then you can figure you now know exactly how fast you can go around a corner in the rain. It's more than most of us know, so you're ahead of that game, anyway.

um, you will heal the bike won't. Hows the bike? You go down on the left or right side?

They make new ones every day.

K'Tesh 01-28-13 12:22 AM

Take plenty of Advil, and heal up quick!

Hope you heal up quickly so you can get back out there. Glad the bike is ok.

I did this on snow plow sand on the 8th. Left wrist still hurts. It is hard, but the time off the bike will help you get back on faster. Don't push it, and heal well.

terrapin44 01-28-13 05:53 PM

Hope you fell better soon!

That was Oct. 25.
I get to try walking without my "boot" in 2-3 weeks.

bhchdh 01-28-13 07:52 PM

Heal well and soon.

Brian@PedalBIG 01-28-13 09:05 PM

Sorry to hear, but glad you're alright. Maybe take a look at your tires, probably couldn't hurt. I run Schwalbe Marathons and couldn't be happier with traction, lack of flats, etc.

Safe Riding!

Any crash you can walk away from is a good one. Be glad you're not like me and land yourself in emergency room followed by dentist.

Shoulders can be tricky. If its not showing immediate improvement and/or it's feeling odd/funny/creaky, I'd go see the doctor. It's expensive, but if you let it go, you can be looking at a permanent disability. As I said, shoulders are a very tricky joint.

I hate it when someone posts that they had a big fall but they don't post a YouTube link to the video!! How else are we to learn from someone else's experience? :roflmao2:

Get well soon!!
