Not in Abilene, they don't. I did call and report it to the police, but I don't expect them to actually do anything about it. The only point in calling them is so I can legally take it back if I or one of my friends happen to see it somewhere.

I was advised by a friend who works at one of the pawn shops here in town that I need to check with them periodically as although the cops are supposed to look over their inventory they're not particularly thorough about it.

This is my Forever, brand new from the factory, outside my apartment in Chengdu 8 years ago. It's still in Sichuan (not Chengdu), and now is rusty and creaky as could be, but this is proof that it was new and looked like this for about two weeks. I spent just as much time fixing this thing as I spent riding it, but I do miss it.

I remember people being surprised those first couple weeks, because they hadn't seen a new 28" black Forever in...forever.

The PA-02 survived longer than 2 weeks before the creaks and rust set in, but Central Texas is a heck of a lot drier than Chengdu, even with the unusual rain this year.

That sucks, tdsherman325. I'm sorry it happened. I hope you get back on the horse one way or another, commuting by bike, any bike.

It gets worse; I figured "Oh well, guess I'd better fix up the Murray" and went out to the garage to find that the Murray, which was hanging on the wall with no wheels, had also been stolen. Why you would steal a bike with no wheels is beyond me but here we are.

I wouldn't let a thing like a stolen bike let me miss a day commuting by bicycle. I've been riding my wife's Skyway and one of my coworkers just gave me a Schwinn mtb that looks like it'll convert to a nice commuter with a few modifications.
