A family friendly collaboration with neighbors, City of Austin Planning and Public Works employees, Austin Cycling Assosociation (Commuter Cycling Class), and Brad Wimberley, local bike shop owner of BIKEALOT Austin. Quite a few nice bikes here as well.

I originally posted this in the Family/Recreational forum, however, I think it is germane here as well.

This is a neighborhood bike ride, a collaboration among residents, our LBS (BikeAlot), COA Planning, Public Works/Connectivity dept, Parks and Rec, and the Austin Cycling Association.

We met for coffee, bagels, and a commuter cycling safety course at BikeAlot Austin, our neighborhood LBS.
We then rode around in a family friendly group to explore our bike routes, bike lanes, parks, connectivity, etc.....

This is very relevant to bicycle commuting as well. Plus there were some very nice rigs there.

Check out the two Pashley Guv'nors on this ride.

I am grateful for this opportunity to help plan the future of my neighborhood for my family and friends, including bike lanes, dedicated bike paths, rails to trails, and hike and bike trails. I hope other communities are doing a similar thing.

Best.
