snow and breakfast

I changed my mind and will commute in based on the fact that the snow hasn't been compressed into ice yet. Also, decided to have some Roquefort with Swedish organic Knäckebröd for fuel. I guess that's why it costs more than a few €/day of commuting :D

or a nice glass of wine, but it's not noon yet :(

how is it in Canada, do you have the same "ban" on unpasteurized dairy products that the US has?

also, IIRC, food in MTL was crazy expensive, on par with Norway/Switzerland. I was shocked at diary prices when I was there last. my buddy mentioned a diary "cartel", so to speak.

I came in here expecting some sort of snow cream concoction recipe... snow for breakfast lol :p

By the way, that doesn't constitute a snowfall. Around here they'd call it a "dusting".

It isn't a real snowfall unless your rear wheel is consistently fishtailing.

Well - some clown TRIED to get something like that passed here but Quebecers like their cheeses too much - we threw it out. One of the biggest cheese/dairy distributors here is Saputo. The word 'cartel' might be well chosen. :)

so interesting that this is an international forum. there's more that unites us than divides us isn't there?

I'd like to report that all of the snow is gone, as is the cheese, and I'll be riding my bike the rest of the week.

My sister-in-law's parents in a small town south of Montreal used to have their own goats and make their own goat cheese and sell it at the local farmer's market (unpasteurized). The story is that the Premier of Quebec visited the market, tried and bought some of the cheese but when the news media posted the story, whatever ministry is in charge of food came down hard on the market and others that sold unpasteurized cheese so her parent's can't sell it anymore although they can make it for themselves. No one they know of has knowingly become sick from their cheese. Maybe it's a government black op-funded dairy cartel.
