Today is the day!

So I've always been a summer seasonal bike commuter taking the lovely little 7mi round trip pedal into work everyday, however with a new job and raised ambition expectation that changes today. The Gary Fisher Montare and I (as well as some rears lights blinking and not, headlights, and all the spare parts I think I could need.) are ready for a new challenge. My new commute will be a 22 (country)miles round trip, leaving time will be 10:45 a.m and departure times 8:30 p.m (though starting next week those times change to 1p.m and 11 p.m) While I prepare myself mentally, and prepare the bike physically one last time, I'm just asking for any last minute advice and encouragement. Thanks in advance, and I'll post ride details upon my return.

You'll find out anything you need soon enough. That is a nice commute and should burn some calories. Good luck!

It really dw pends on how fast you ride and the conditions you're riding under. I ride 22 miles(rt) myself. To work, it's all downhill. Home is different, 700 ft climb home. I give my self an hour to get there. This gives me time to cool off. I'll leave earlier in the summer. My ride home is about 55min. I take my time and stay hydrated. I only need to prep physically. The mental stuff is what the ride is for.

Are you saying you ride 22 miles with climbing in an hour?

Now I'm depressed.

No he's saying 11 miles, downhill, in an hour. Doesn't sound too hard :-)
