Pelted with eggs

So as I biked home tonight, about 10 pm, from my job as an EMT, in my city, Baldwin Park -- a heavily Latino, low-income town -- I got pelted with eggs less than a mile from where I live. The three Hispanic guys rode a black 90's Camry, which I chased down as far my legs and heart could go, but I just couldn't catch up (I had just done a crapload of pull-ups before I left work, so I was already winded). They ran 2 intersections trying to get away from me (they passed two cars in front of them and ran through the intersection) and I ran those same 2 intersections chasing them, and just when I thought I got them, I was staring at the wrong car! They apparently turned in the last intersection, and my view of them was blocked as I tried avoiding the opposing lane's cars. I suppose that it was a good thing, as I don't think felonies will go over well when I apply to med school.

Anybody pelted with eggs? Or bottles? I remember being pelted with empty bottles, me and my sister, when we lived in Alhambra back in the 90s. They hit my sister. They were black guys, and I remember coming home and telling the story to my sister and her boyfriend, who's black, and when they asked us what race they were, I said, "Black, of course!" He got mad, not for very long, but it was offensive to him. I was maybe 16 back then, but I'd say the same **** today. Why would reality be offensive?

I'm Chinese, by the way. Let the flames begin.

Sorry to laugh at your misfortune, but that made me laugh. I can remember pelting a few things (maybe people) with eggs back in my early 20's when I was a drunk. Just try to let it go...

The reason this is offensive is because their race has nothing to do with any of this. By describing them in those terms you're implying that their race was somehow a factor or maintains some sort of significance. They didn't throw eggs because they were Hispanic, they threw eggs because they were @$$holes.

Car distributor was flung towards my head a while back by gypsy kids (teenagers) who that it would be funny to see someone's skull cracked open. I of course called the police which arrived twenty-five minutes later, twenty minutes after the gypsy families had packed up their belongings on the pick-up trucks and had driven off. I gave descriptions of cars, license plates and people, and was later told that thousands of license plates (along with the ones I gave them) were registered to a house-less plot of land in the middle of no-where, and that of course the cars where never insured and all had outstanding warrants for minor to major violations.

...and that's about the sum of it.

Nothing to do with you or you being on a bicycle. Obviously they left the house armed with eggs and looking to abuse someone. It could just as easily have been a pedestrian, or a car, or sonebody's house. Idiots are idiots.

He "described" them as black because they asked what race they were...

When I was a teenager, someone threw a C battery at me from a moving car. It hit a metal post a few feet away and bent from the impact. I hate to think what it would have done to my head.

Sorry to hear about what happened OP. Since you had a description of the vehicle and the individuals did you get the license plate and contact the authorities?

When it happened to me years ago (a cup of water or something) it took about 2 phone calls and an hour wait before the police arrived to take my statement. They told me there was nothing they could do even though I had a description of the vehicle and the license plate.
