Ortlieb Shopper vs Roller
 

Apologies for another thread about panniers, but I have no way of trying these before buying. Dimensions for these two are listed as the same, but the shopper has a zipper seam. Does that mean the effective size is bigger because no rolling down needed? Advantages/disadvantages of the two? I need something that can fit a folded dress shirt loosely so no wrinkles. And lunch, etc. really want the quality of the ortlieb attachment. Thanks for any thoughts.

You might try rolling your shirt for transport. I've been doing that for years on my Sportspacker Plus. Except for when I bring a new or dry cleaned shirt to work to open it, and they've fit without problems.

Which roller are you looking at (front or back)? The back ones are huge!

Was looking at back. I love the idea of having more room if needed. You know, for someday when I ride across the country :).
I tried a topeak rack bag, but it was too small. I liked the rigidity, but not having to put things in a pannier and in the main compartment. I wish there were a pannier that had some rigidity to it, to minimize wrinkling of clothes.

Ortlieb Shopper is sold as Each, back roller is sold in pairs.

Ti, a toothless zip needs a bit of lubrication to work smoothly ..

there are also the Downtown, more rectangular for things like the laptop.

My Avenir Metro panniers hold my work clothes and lunch with room to spare and my shirts never get wrinkled if I put them in neatly. Plus, they're only $40 and sold at Dick's Sporting Goods (if you have one around you) so you can check them out in person.

Been there, done that. :)

But beware! Those big Orliebs look like an airplane hanger, and if you don't resist the urge to fill them up, they end up weighing like they're an airplane hanger fill up with junk.
