1 year of commuting - today
2 Attachment(s)
Today is the one year anniversary of being a daily bike commuter.
There's been lots of adjustments and changes since day 1. I took this photo of my bike at work, as 'proof' that it could be done. ;) http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=318216 Here's a recent pic of the same bike: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=318217 It's been a learning experience for certain. The simplest lesson for me to learn was, go ahead and ride in the rain. The most difficult; sometimes it's safer to go ahead and take the lane and allow the motorist to be inconvenienced by my presence. [raises a glass] Here's to another year! |

Nicely done, all around. :D |
Congrats! Here's to many more years of bike commuting!

Congratulations on year #1!

I'd say you have learned a lot faster than the majority of bike commuters.

Good job.

Good job. I always feel bad if I don't bike to work. Guilty! I finished winter number six this year. I just don't drive to work any more. Keep it up. You will enjoy many things, not only the monetary side. I saved enough for a Trek 520 while riding the summer gas went up to about $5.00 per gallon. N+1 my friend.

Congrats on your first commuting anniversary!

Congratulations. I just passed my 6th anniversary a few weeks ago.

Good for you! You're part of an elite group; those who understand that the auto is good for a few jobs, every couple of weeks or so. Any more is not healthy. (I suppose not everyone here sees it just that way. Others might have other reasons. But this is a good one.)
You're right about the rain/weather. I've found that even when there's a pretty good chance of rain it's not likely to be coming down just when I happen to be riding. Maybe once a year I find myself riding along thinking, "this is just plain misery. I should be driving.." But even that hasn't happened in a while. |
