Commuting and sanity. Thank you God.
These past four to five weeks have brought on a lot of challenges from demanding work travel with this divorce processes with my wife to meeting someone recently. It's been a whirlwind of emotion, changes, challenges, bumps, hills, falls, and all the other bull$hit that life brings with those. I have not ridden my bike much of that time with the exception of little rides.
Yesterday I was fed up with work and decided to leave, change, grab my bike and go for a nice 21 miles ride which felt pretty damn good. Today I decided to commute and saw one deer on the way into work and three on the way back. The riding was excellent. I missed commuting a lot. I forgot how it made you feel...... Instant pick me up. I commuted one day early last week and it brought a lot of challenges..... A lot more pot holes that were new, a lot of more debris in the road, new road closers and pissed off drivers. I think that was karma knocking on the door. Lol I missed riding a lot. Thank goodness for it. |
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Nothing quite so dramatic has happened in my life but I'm enjoying the bike after a period when I did not ride. It helps anyone restore balance in life.

I've been where you are ... in the divorce process and meeting new people ... dealing with lawyers, money issues and a huge amount of emotions. :thumb: for dealing will all of the BS associated with that. I am proud of you for getting back on the bike and getting some personal you-time in :thumb: Always be sure to take time out for you, which is sounds like you're doing, which is great! and meeting new people is even better :D on the road to normalcy! [a-hole mode on] shoulda bought the german bike instead of the super expensive custom built touring bike. :P |

It has been a hell of a ride lately with all of this and the only thing that seems to help is riding. He'll with the lawyers, mediators, blah blah blah. |

Is it any consolation that the custom bike was wielded by a German? And I ride it and I am German too. ;)

Been through some of that in my own life, and being up on two wheels helped a lot then. Even if I wasn't pedaling. We all work our way through these things, I wish you the best.
