Webbed feet
 

What do you wear to keep your feet dry. I got caught in a moderate rain, it will get much worse and colder. I have full fenders, but it wasn't enough to keep my feet dry.

I wore my regular bike shoes with spd clips. Do keep with clipless pedals with your winter footwear. I'd like to stay with them because I have several long hills (as in 2 -3 mile long) along my route and would like to be clipless.

I'm trying to get it all figured out before it gets cold. Today I just got wet, but it was in upper 50's so cold wasn't a problem.

If you can't pop for the neoprene shoe covers, or don't want them, you're going to get wet shoes. Wet FEET, on the other hand, are easily avoidable with empty bread bags. Over the socks and into the shoes you go.

In my very rural part of the world, everyone has webbed feet. Some people blame the small gene pool, others the large swimming pool-like marshlands that surround us. Don't get me wrong, it a very friendly area, everyone treats each other like family.
To solve the problem of webbed feet, we use sealskinz, a waterproof sock.

I use Endura's Road Overshoe booties in the wet. They're the only ones I've ever tried that actually keep my shoes dry. They're warm enough too, to get me to around freezing.

In the winter, I use Lake's Winter Cycling Boots. Best $275 I ever spent.

SPD all 365 for me.

I have a different version of the Endura booties (MT500), and I'm not sure how waterproof they really are, but they do a good job of keeping my feet warm even when they get damp (almost too warm, I rarely wear them below 35-40 degrees).

Also, wool socks. (feet stay warm, even if wet)

I used those before they came out with the Road Overshoes. The two models are the same cut, but water just rolls off the Road Overshoes, whereas I swear the MT500s are water absorbent. Still working on wearing out my MT500s. Great for dry days.

+1. I have Adidas neoprene booties, but I don't have clipless pedals, I run PowerGrips or standard toeclips. Getting booties into standard toe clips is a pain, but doable. With PowerGrips it ain't happening. I use produce bags or regular shopping bags over socks and inside the shoe. I bake bread, I never have enough bread bags as it is. There are none to use as shoe liners. It would have to be an extremely long ride to cause serious soaking of my feet, from the inside, in plastic bags. They 'just' begin to get damp at around 7 miles. 10 miles is the limit of what I have tried. At ten miles, the rest of me is SOAKED, no matter what I am wearing, but my feet will be the driest part of me. Good thing cuz I really hate wet feet.

the Spud pedals went in storage .. Platform pedals + LL Bean Boots .. Rubber Bottom, Leather Upper..

North and Inland You might want the Insulated ones..

I use flat pedals and lightweight, waterproof insulated hiking/ winter boots. I find clipless overrated for road pedaling.

I just use some waterproof steel-toe shoes(Kinda heavy I guess)

Wool socks and if it rains really hard, plastic bread bags over your socks. That's the ticket!
