I finally saw more bike comuters this morning.
 

I wasn't riding (or even near) my usual route though, I was collecting donations for a charity. I saw a couple that definitely looked like commuters, and a couple of people that may or may not have been. The weather was great for commuting this morning, I hope the rest of you got to ride.

Oh, I always ride. Cars are -far- too expensive for me.

Also, only a chump (or a pizza delivery guy) drives 4 miles to work :p

I've seen a few here and there that were without a doubt commuters. Even one that appears to have been new, riding on the sidewalk and everything, but when he engaged me I was trying to push the envelope (for me) and I didn't really interact. Regrets!

It's always encouraging to see others. I feel less weird as a result. It is my desire to help normalize cycle commuting the best I can, even if one day I can no longer commute that way myself (which I hope never comes).

I have the luxury of riding 8.5 of my 9.5 miles to work (local community college) on rail trails. I never see commuters and that includes faculty, staff or students. It makes me kind of sad but I do enjoy the guilty pleasure of having the paved paths all to myself in the morning. The ride home is a totally different story.

A couple of days ago I lost a $50 taillight on my way to work, so I went back home and back to work again looking for it.

On the downside, I didn't find it so I'm out a $50 taillight. On the upside, I got to ride 39 miles before work and another 13 after. Then I got a call and my new bike was in and I went and picked that up. A good day all around.

I see anywhere from dozens to hundreds of bike commuters every day, depending on the weather. Wish there weren't so many. Consider yourself fortunate.

I normally see a maximum of 10 other commuters a year. I have gone entire years without seeing any others. I've gone a week or more even on nice days in the summer without seeing any other cyclists of any variety.

Cycling isn't all that big around here.

On the weekends all bets are off, there are sometimes a lot of weekend warriors out.

Earlier this summer I saw a woman bike commuter going the other way and was too busy checking out her commuting accouterments while being shocked to see another bike commuter to realize she was pretty attractive too.

I see 1 or 2 a day and plenty of people out on recreational rides. I don't see too many other road bikes out on my commute but plenty that ride past my house. That said, my commute path is never what I would consider crowded, even on the MUP. The advised speed limit is 15 mph. I don't feel too bad exceeding that in the morning when I might see a couple walkers and joggers in 5 miles but I usually take the shoulder on my way home. It's pretty rude to go 18-22 mph on the MUP when there are kids, dogs, and more bikes.

Yeah a little chilly in the morning at around 50F in chicgoland, but 80F leaving. Kinda don't like having to wear colder weather gear in the morning, then haul it home on the way back. I prefer June-July. Didn't cross paths with too many today.

More every year, in fact.

Things slow down a bit in the winter, but there are always a few.

That's fantastic. Why would you wish there weren't so many, given all the societal benefits of more bike commuting? I know it could be a pain, but more demand should eventually equal better facilities. If that's not working out, maybe your local advocacy organizations need a boost.
