I received my Kryptonite Evolution 2000 replacement, for which I am very happy.
But I used to use the bracket that mounted it onto the seat tube, a sort of
splined affair that worked quite well.
I saved my bracket, but didn't remove the piece on the U that mated to the bracket.
I am wondering if anyone has discovered a good way to mount the updated orange crossbar Kryptonite locks. Maybe an updated bracket is available, I could see investing in that.
I may just leave this U on the bike rack I use and schlep my cable around,
I did that for about a year.

I think Kryptonite deserves some respect for holding up their end of the deal.

best to all...

PS admittedly there are a lot of Kryptonite threads, but none are active right now except
a very unrelated one in the MTB folder

I'd complain to Krytonite. They need to replace with the equivalent. For me this was an issue since I bought a new EV2000 mini lock about 2wks before the recall. I had only used it a few times, the replacement I got didn't come with a lighted key nor a mounting bracket. Not good business at all - I think there are many who had their locks for several years already who were happy to get a replacement, which I understand.

I had the same problem. Have you dealt with yours yet? I'm wondering about my options...

Not only did I get this message:

A new mounting bracket will be sent to you.

Best regards,

But I actually received the bracket a day later...
I would buy from them again, but I alread have a U and cable lock
from Kryptonite. But people should know they're keeping up
their end really well. But think of the alternative... if they didn't
I can tell you , they'd be out of business.

Cool, thanks. Did you call or email?

tvphobic 03-17-05 08:33 PM

email, good luck

el twe 03-17-05 08:49 PM

Alright. Their email is down now, but I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks again.

Just fired Steve Knight an email. I'll post when I get a response.

I got the same message (on Monday), and must say that I'm very pleased with Kryptonite's customer relations. I would like to publicly proclaim that Kryptonite is a wonderful company, they treat people as people (as opposed to a tracking number), and I am now opting out of the lawsuit!

The new style bracket that came back with my NY lock is very nice. The part on the lock is metal, and very strong. You can snap the lock in and out of the new bracket without having to lock or unlock it. It looks strong too.
