Keeping shirt collars clean?

Riding in my neck necessarily hits up against my dress shirt collar, resulting in the dreaded "ring around the collar".

How do folks deal with this? A towel, bandanna?

Thanks,
Mike

I change clothes when I get to work. :)

Bike clothes. All sweaty stuff dries during the day.

Towel might be too heavy weight and cause you to sweat more, a bandana, cotton, might be a better choice although watch out for colour bleeding, that'd be worse.

I know it sounds odd, but I put deodorant on the back of my neck and if that's to weird for you I suggest a dickey or turtleneck dickey that you can take off easily after your ride. :)

Bandana sounds good. may be a good solution, actually. :D

Kinda wasteful, but a friend of mine used to put masking tape on the collar to prevent the ring from forming, though this was not for riding.

Personally, I change shirts at work and wear whatever pants I'm going to wear that day. I wear a wicking layer plus a very light fleece (sometimes marketed as mid-layer) or thin soft shell typically. I have this garment, but I'm pretty sure I got it for about $30 during sale on their site: http://www.rei.com/product/854413

+1 for changing clothes and giving yourself a wipe-down with a towel or wetnap when you get to work. After a sweaty commute in, you become accustomed to the smell of your body, but your co-workers might not. In that case, ring-around-the-collar is the least of your problems!

If you can't shower and change when you get there, shower before you leave. And wash the shirt when you get home. Ring around the collar is usually a build-up.
