Elevation profiles for Brooklyn & Manhattan bridges?
Does anyone have elevation profiles of these? I've searched around a bit off and on for a couple of weeks and haven't been able to find anything.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_...ates_by_height H Edit: hmmm... both links work in my quote... the first is closer to what the op wants but seems to be short on factual data... kind of like what this thread may turn into. Somethings are not meant to be quantified. Just ride... ... |

That link isn't live, and anyway I don't think that is exactly the information the o.p. wants. I suspect that want to know the angle of the slope on approach to each bridge. That is information I don't have. Rode the Brooklyn Bridge for years. Never really thought about it.
H I don't think the information he is looking for exists on the internet in an accessible manner. There are engineering drawings showing elevation profiles but they might not reflect current roads. It's not clear exactly what he's looking for or why. That lack of information is going to limit how much effort people will put it to look for stuff. I might try to look for ride profiles and start from there. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1781932 |
Navigational Charts give you the clearance under the bridge.. [varies with the tide , of course]

Try NYCC.ORG. They have hill profiles for the NY area.

They don't feel significantly different to me. I ride them often.

Thanks all. Yes, I'm looking for a GPS elevation profile if you ride across them. Just wondering how they compare to some of the hills I ride.
Alan's lmgtfy came up with this for Manhattan (Thanks, didn't show up on my googles for some reason): http://veloviewer.com/segment/153272...entire+length) |

There's also strava. That has a profile for just about everything.
