14 miles one way (Commuter Rail home with bike, with stations near each end of the route) from downtown Boston, MA to a suburb, in the reverse commuter direction on residential and light commercial streets.

10.6 to work the way home is usually longer.

(I know my commute is hardly a commute anymore, I bought a new house close to work, makes it easier to be car free)

Mine is similar, except that I usually drive the seven miles to and from the home side station (train departs 5:15 AM).

I hope to do this in the next few years. There are several nice condos within a couple of miles of my work place, lots of nice restaurants and shops, and a great grocery store. In about two years, we'll be in a position to sell our current home and buy closer to work. I figure I can always make the ride longer when I feel like it. But for now, I'm enjoying my daily 12 mile r/t.

5.5 to work, train in middle; 22 home. Live in Long Beach, work in downtown LA.

Varies about depending on the routes. I recently moved to a different part of Seattle and it is now usually 9.6 miles on my way in a varies between 8.5 to 11 miles depending on which way I go home, assuming I don't decide to take a nice long ride on the way home, which I've been doing pretty regularly.

South Hadley, MA 7.2 Miles each way

About 30 miles each way NoVA. But it's zero now until the snow melts.

25km in, 22km out (15.5/13.8mi) (route in avoids a bad intersection at a 3km cost)

BTW, that's my summer "get-some-fitness-in" route, my winter route is the shortest route because of snow and bad roads so is just 4km (2.5mi)
