Taco'd fender need new

Arg I turned to hard in the parking garage while not clipped in and my foot bent the front fender in half. I bent it back but there is so little clearance on the Bike Planet fenders for the front and rear tire.

Anyone know of a fender with at least a .5" clearance for a Trek 5200??

Have you tried SKS RaceBlades? I had them on my Raleigh road bike and had lots of tire clearance.

The Race Blades attach to the frame or fork (depending on rear or front). You don't have to screw them in.

Gotta go with what works... shaving off:
17lb lighter bike
6lbs payload
9lbs spare tire on waist
====
32 lbs less shaved off 61minutes/day on my commute.

I second the SKS, they're just about the only ones that will fit.

I "third" the race blades. I bought them to use on my new fixed gear (no braze ons for anything-its a track bike). They fit nice, and look great. While they don't give full coverage, they seem to have problem areas covered.

I think I'll swap them onto one of my road bikes for Brevet season.

The only downside about them is that they are pricey for what you get.

With SKS style full fenders (not the race blades), the clearance is set by the brake caliper and frame/fork. In other parts of the wheel, you can adjust the clearance however you like. The fender stays are very long and need to be cut down if you prefer a closer fit.

Yeah the SKS full-fenders seem to have more coverage. For the Race-blade fans, how dry do they keep your legs?
