Which Bike Is Better?

Schwinn City Single Bike - Comfort / Hybrid
or
Save Up To 60% Off Town Bikes | Classic, Stylish Three Speed City Bikes | Urban Bikes | Commuter Road Bikes | Windsor Oxford from bikesdirect.com

The Schwinn has a lighter frame, comes with a rack, and is single speed (which I prefer). Any reason not to get it over the Oxford? Thanks!

No rain fender. How does that Schwinn not have one? So that will be an extra cost. Unless you're figuring on the cost of adding a rack to the Windsor. Hey, the Windsor Deluxe has both for the same price.

Good point! Wound up purchasing this based on Nashbar's recommendation:
https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Produc...0052_560653_-1
They had a 17% off sale so I wound up paying only $315 after shipping.

Very nice. Would you please do us a favor and take pictures after it arrives and post them here? Also, we'd like to know how the bike serves you, whether you enjoy it or not, and so on. Thanks.

Hey Tom,

I really enjoy the bike. It's surprisingly light, I appreciate the 5 gears, the breaks are the best that I've ever used, and the posture (slightly bent forward) is actually really good for my lower back. The basket is a waste though--its too damn small--so I may wind up swapping out the handle bars. I went to my LBS to get it tuned up and all and he declared a general loathing for IGHs but I took his advice with a grain of salt since he wasn't familiar with the brand (sturmey archer). It's been a real pleasure to ride so far and every day I ride I save $5 that I would have spent on Metrocard fare so I'll make my money back in a few months.

Second that request.

It's great to hear that you are enjoying the bike. I would not return to that LBS. Try to find a place that treats you and your bike with respect.
