Spicing up your bike?

So has anyone decorated thier bike? I have a bike permit on my middle bar so I can do anything crazy (lol) but has anyone put decoration on thier bike? My milk crate is cute ugly looking, how can I make it more eye appealing? Has anyone done something similar?

This is my bike fully loaded. Take note of the bar-ends and the angle I have them at. It allows for an extra hand position. So yes you could say I have. The best way to make your bike different and more interesting is to go into a bike shop and just look around at different stuff and maybe buy a couple things for it.

I have a few decorations on my bike. I have home made streamers, a Snoopy (as a World War I flying ace) figure on my stem, a Magician tarot card on my down tube, a pentagram on my stem cap, and a few assorted stickers on my snap deck

I zip tied some streamers to my helmet. Kids like them and I haven't forgotten to wear it once since I did it.

These guys have every color/type of reflective tape you'd want. You can decorate your bike and improve your night time safety.

Although I would suggest upgrading to a U-lock first.

Chili-peppers in the bike shorts would do it.

lots of people want their bike less appealing, so a thief takes the other guy's , instead..

Cute, pretty , spiced up bikes are thief magnets. Keep it ugly and plain looking to deter theft. The black milk crate is a great idea.... You need to get a better stronger bike lock , instead of decorating your bike.

Time to bust some myths.

Your casual, low-level thief stealing a bike or parts to pawn for a quick buck or for a joyride will steal absolutely anything. And your professional thieves will part everything out, so they don't particularly care about how the bike looks, either.

Making a bike ugly on purpose is completely useless. Thieves don't care.

I prefer not to uglify my bike because I like my bike to look clean and cool. I used to have an old beater mtb but I gave it to my old man so he could use it. I wish I still had it for quick runs to the store, it's old and beat up. Nobody is going to steal it

You could neatly weave patterns through the holes using black or pink rope... Straight, or diagonally, or around the corners. So many options. Some sort of plastic ribbon could be equally well suited. Some sort of material that doesn't catch sand, dirt and dust and is reasonably easy to wash.
