Krypto Evolutions

These things any good? I already got a heavy chain and pad lock, but id like to get a u lock (flat key of course) to supplement that. I was thinking of the evo cause its a little lighter then the New York u-lock. Also, this would make it more convienient when I took it along on my roadie on long rides outside of the city (I live in NYC) and need a quick and hopefully somewhat secure lock. Also what about the evo minis? they look nice but r they too thin to lock around sign poles and parking meters? Thx guys

I don't have one, but many cyclists swear by them.

I have a Krypto NYC U-lock--the black and yellow one. It's too big and heavy for my tastes, but definitely seems pretty tough. I wanted a mini to reduce the shackle clearance--I definitely think this makes for better security, if it does make it tougher to lock up. The Evo was nowhere to be found when I went looking in the city. But the other day, I saw a mini-NYC lock in Paragon Sports, so I guess the minis are all back. The Evo looks fine to me, I've seen them a lot in NYC. Don't know much about the OnGuards, though everyone's got 'em.

Where'd you see any of the minis?

They had a bunch of evo's at Mr c's cycles on 47th and 6th in brooklyn. The only mini thy had was a longshackle version

I really like my Evo Mini LS - it's long enough to go through both wheels (with the front one off the bike) and my helmet as well as a parking meter, with very little space left - so it would be hard to jack / twist open. I had a Mini not-LS, and had a hard time getting it locked around both wheels.
