Mine have crunched periodically since probably the first week I got them. I try to not put a lot of walking miles on them, but you know... you kind of have to go places if you have to go places, on foot or otherwise. Overall, I'm fairly impressed with how well they have held up, especially considering the amount of time they have spent in front of a heater drying out. My one main beef with them in the eyelets- they cut through the laces on the left shoe, and its been my experience with other cheap shoes that there just isn't a whole hell of a lot you can do about it once it happens. Gotta buy a lot of shoeloaces till you replace the shoe, basically.
