BEST HELMET FOR MASSIVE HEADS: Giro Venti or POC Crane Cycle Helmet / Any other?

I've got a massive, or shall I say humungous head. I need a helmet, which allows air flow to keep me cool, but is also durable in the event of a crash or fall. I've read good reviews about both the Giro Venti and POC Cran Cycle Helmet. Just having trouble choosing which one to go for.

Giro Venti - £29.95 from Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giro-Venti-H...pr_product_top

POC Crane Cycle Helmet (Krypton Blue colour) - £45.70 from Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/POC-Crane-Cy...ds=POC+helmets

Any users of these helmets? Is the price difference a reflection of the quality of both helmets? Which is the better one?

Any other helmet suggestions are welcome as well. Remember helmets for humungous heads

Thanx guys :D

FWIW I have a Giro something and it fits me. Few things ever do unless they have a XXL in their product line. I've had my present helmet six years and, phew, it's time for a new one... I'm going to get a Giro because I know they fit large (extra large) heads. They are also very reasonable. Just saying... I got a Giro that should have cost $56.00 six years ago. I paid $35 at Nashbar because it was a previous years model. Make sure that Giro is an overstock or pay a little more for something higher up the model line, it won't be safer, but it will be more comfortable to wear. Or not... actually all the padding has long since disintegrated in my helmet and I'm still using it.

Edit: just looked at your links. The Giro is exactly like mine, mine is nicer graphics though, blue and white. I'd buy it again.

I wear a size XXXL hat, and I have an older Giro, though I don't recall the model offhand. One thing I ran into was that the Giro was the only very large helmet that comfortably fit the shape as well as the size of my head. So you might still need to shop around.

This is what I have. Fits very nice on my watermelon sized head.

I looked on Amazon.co.uk and it isn't listed. Maybe you can find it someplace else?

I use a Giro Bishop it is current year so it is like 50 bucks.

Look into the XL range of Bell helmets which are the most comfortable helmets for those of us with large heads.

I have the older Metropolitan (I think..) and while other XL helmets squeeze on, the Bell still has plenty of room.

I have a Lazer O2 with really good ventilation. It's very comfortable. I always avoid saying "big head" by referring to an enormous cranial capacity.:thumb:

Look at the Specialized Max as well.
