Talk me out of/into a Cannondale Bad Boy 6
I got my old Scott Atacama Tour stolen three days ago outside the school (admittedly I had a cheap cable lock, there was only two other bikes in the rack, and almost very few people passes by there during the vacation) and are therefore looking for a new bike.
I have searched, read, and looked at reviews and pictures the whole weekend and finally talked myself into wanting a Cannondale Bad Boy 6. (Preferably I would want a Charge Zester 2013, but can't find it in my size anywhere.)
So now I want some input on if the Bad Boy is a good choice or not.
I'll commute 6km, more or less, five days a week, and use it for grocery shopping and shorter tours on the weekends. This will be done all year round, and I'll use studded tires during the winter. Fenders will be mounted, but not a rack, as I use a backpack for day to day stuff and/or a trailer when hauling heavier stuff. The commute will mostly be made on inner city bike lanes.
Have I deluded myself in wanting that bike and looked past other, better bikes?

Honestly, just hop on the Öresundtåg and hit the CPH bike shops.
Lycka till!

how does your trailer attach? I am really starting to like disk breaks and if I ever have to replace my commuter I will probably go that route but it limits the type of bike trailer you can tow.
Other than the trailer part which can get worked out it looks reasonable.

Edit: seems you can even go from Malmö Centralstation to Nørreport directly by the Öresundtåg. No excuse now

So, I managed to find a Cube Hyde that I really liked (one of the bikes I had contemplated before asking here), and it seems to be a very close match spec-wise to the Bad Boy. Main differences seems to be: 14mm wider tires with some tread, slightly less than 1.85 kg heavier, Acera rear derailleur and shifters instead of Deore rear derailleur and Alivio shifters, and €250 cheaper.
So between those two, Cannondale Bad Boy 6 and Cube Hyde, which would be the recommended one to buy?

The cheaper one is more than good enough - for commuting. I'd go for mechanic brakes and 8 cog cassette instead of 9 cog one like those two bikes have. Keep it cheaper and simpler for commuting.

Hmm, it's leaning towards the Cube yes.
Does anyone know when next years models usually are released, and if retailers have any sales on last years (i.e. 2014) models? Mainly in regards to Cannondale and Cube.

I was looking at a Bad Boy last year but grabbed a Kona Jake (granted, totally different style of bike). I test rode the Bad Boy and simply did not like the way it rode. Cant really explain...

go with a CUBE ... they're the best bang for the buck in the German market ... and STEVENS.
you won't beat the price of a CUBE for how it's spec'd.

Cannondale is now just another aluminum framed bike made in Taiwan in a contract manufacturing factory like other brands .
subtile differences in parts pick list.. Unless you love the single leg front suspension fork ..

I went with the Cube in the end as it was the cheapest, and had rather good reviews. So now I'm just waiting for it to be packed and shipped to me!
