I've been around Asia a fair bit and their low-tech solutions (holes with bars and a hose) and high-tech solutions (japan with the automatic yet adjustable pressure bidet) are fine.

Why do people in the West sometimes do things differently than our Asian friends? For the same reason Occidentals use knives and forks and not chopsticks.
We can't all be so worldly as you and always find some reason to disparage Western or American cultural mores.

I don't think I've disparaged Western/American morals at all.

I like the independence that comes with being Western as we are not so enshrined in historical action.

I wouldn't say I'm worldly, in fact, the opposite, I feel quite lacking and am fighting very hard for a position where my children would get multiple languages by default to compensate for my lack of worldliness ... I can't provide them with what I don't know, however, I am working hard to know what I don't know, that way I can provide an optimal environment for intellectual nourishment.

So, we are supposed to clean our bikes with bidets.

the last two places I lived had "wetrooms" with no shower per se just a slightly slanted floor with a hose/coming out of the wall. i could roll the bike in an hose it down or clean anything really easily.

kind of like this but a little smaller and without the freestanding tub.

Funny what passes for advanced. My 75 year old home, like many from that era around here, had a similar setup in the unfinished half of the basement. Definitely not as elegant and also without a tub. Basically on one side of the room there was a showerhead, a sink, and a toilet near the corner. There was no shower enclosure, just a concrete floor graded towards a drain.

My childhood home which was built in the late 50's also had something like it but my father built a wall of concrete blocks around that portion of the basement to provide a little bit of privacy.

Though they functioned as bathrooms and showers of last resort, the intention was that they could be used to clean stuff or people that were too dirty or too big for the "nice" bathroom.

Since houses of that era also tend to be smaller than houses built today, and people have more crap then they did back then, even if those old showers are left in place they often aren't used because of all the extra space they require vs an enclosed shower stall. Sometimes people will put walls around them. In our case the floor drain was about 6ft away from the shower head. At one point a previous owner had pipe/tubing suspended from the ceiling to allow for a set of curtains but that portion of the basement is barely heated and you'd still have a stream of water running across the floor.

I can see how a higher end version of an arrangement like that would be nice in place of a standard bathroom if you have the space.

Love it! I keep an old towel on the porch, and give mine a good wipe when I get back from a ride. I love a clean and shiny bike, and it give me a chance to look for frayed cables, tire issues, or other problems.
