Alternatives to Amsterdam 3i?

I would like to buy a european/dutch style bike such as the Electra 3i. The problem is it must be a derailleur style and not internal hub, because i pull a trailer and the trailer will not work or attach with a internal hub because the trailer attaches to the scewer. I have a hybrid now and i am not going with that style anymore. It doesnt suit my needs or style of riding. I would prefer to stay. At the 600 price point preferably.

Suggestions?

I don't know, but I hope you enjoy this snarky review.

Yes I have read that before......but that really doesn't take care of the situation.

No, I posted it only as a humorous interlude to serve you until you find useful information. Hey, at least I'm bumping your thread for you. ;)

Electra Townie 7D: Original 7D | Electra Bikes

Is this fine? It's 4 more gears, and not an IGH - should work for you. It's not fully a Dutch styled bike, but it's similar in it's execution and function.

Yeah, the Amsterdam is styled to remind one of a Dutch bike, but it's really an Electra crank forward. If it floats your boat, the Townie will get you down the same canal.

My Puma Nevis is crank forward. I'm hunting down a replacement frame to solve that "problem". It's a nuisance to ride on hills,...totally KILLS meh knees!!!

Not a fan of the Townie design
