My Lemond is definitely a guy. A guy with a little bit of attitude, and a lot of jealousy directed toward that Texan. It's only human.

I have given names to my cars in the past, but with my bike . . . it seems more like just a friend. It doesn't seem to matter if it's a Male or Female, because it is just a friend . . . and in the same way that I dont think about the color (race) of my friends, I similarly don't think about their gender. One of my best friends is a girl, but I hardly see her as such, you know. (I'm a Male BTW)
If my bike ever does get a name, it will be because the name just catches on from some event. (My Guess)
