Commuting Again- Will the weather cooperate?
 

Can you believe that this was my first day commuting this year. Normally, I would have commuted 10-15 days by now, but the weather has been unbelievable. After a weekend of wet snow, driving rain and powerful winds I took off today on my 21 km commute. Winds were strong, but it was an absolute relief to be out enjoying the daily ride. How about you? Have you found this winter more difficult than others or am I just getting picky?

I'm just a few kms down the road from you and I started last week, though I'm only a fair weather commuter. I don't set out if I know it is going to rain. Road to work today and the wind was terrible riding home. My commute's 25 km, about the same as yours. Love it.

hockey? What is hockey? I sure hope the NHL start up again in October with regular players,not replacements. The weather here today sucks, it is raining and cloudy, but it is expected to be 18 and sunny on Friday and I will be out riding that's for sure.

I agree that this winter has been far worse than others. It has rained more here and it even got as cold as the 57F (that is about 10C).

Just having fun with you, I have riden in 0-10F weather, with snow. Just like being a kid again, as long as you don't have to do it too often I guess.

Well!.... three days in a row this week. Lets hope the weather holds and that winter has finally given up for the year. Don't you love riding in April? Dress in layers in the morning and then peel it all off for the ride home. Gotta love it!!

Yeah, spring is finally here, its hitting the low 90s now. At least the morning commute is pleasant at about 55-60deg. ;)

What do you store the layers in for the ride home? Panniers?

I use a backpack.
