I'm not sure why putting things online automatically makes them better. I guess if I wanted to do that, I'd just toss my stuff into a Google spreadsheet.
For a numbers and stats junkie like me it's a great tool. I personally could care less about the segments stuff. |

Nope. It's on the website. For a long time you could add the gear you used when you logged a workout. Seeing the totals for the gear was convoluted at times, but it was there. Then on August 14 they introduced this "new" feature sponsored by Zappos and suddenly you could only enter one piece of gear per workout and the totals for existing gear were apparently recalculated from old logged workouts with only one piece of gear used from each existing workout. The result was bad data.
You can get to the "gear tracker" feature from the "My Home" drop down menu on the current website if you are logged in. |

I don't know what MMR has, but Strava has Gear where you can enter different bikes, different shoes for runs, etc. And then for each bike you can list different parts, make and model, weight, install date, date you removed it, etc.
At this point I'm desperately clinging to MMR in the hopes that my data will magically reappear once they fix their bugs. At some point I may very well bite the bullet and switch to Strava. |
I use Garmin Connect with the Edge 200. Super easy.

I've used MapMyRide for years, but I'm currently very annoyed with them. Ever since they introduced their new "Gear Tracker" sponsored by Zappos they've had incorrect totals for all the gear that I'd tracked mileage for in the past and now I can't track separate mileage for components (because their gear tracker thinks everything is a shoe). They say they're going to fix these problems, but it's been a month since I last saw my data. :notamused:

The part I don't get is why it should matter whether the software "thinks everything is a shoe" so long as it's a shoe called "bike chain"
