About 9,000 total miles on a 2008 RANS V-Rex, my designated commuter. Maybe half are commuting miles.

I've got 3274 km (2034 miles) on my daily commuter from March 2013 plus around 60 miles the previous owner had on it before giving up on the Nexus-3's hill climbing abilities

I also have another 4894 km (3041 miles) on my previous commuter, now turned touring bike.

That's a total of 8168 km (5075 miles) in commutes during a three year period.

Current commuter

Previous commuter turned into touring bike.

I have no idea. It's not the same bike because I change parts, wheels, etc. Much of the drivetrain is new. New handlebars, frame is the same, 4 years old. Three different wheelsets and a dozen pairs of tires. Too much to keep track of and no real value in knowing milage. I commute and tour about 150 miles a week.

My original 2003 commuter (and only bike) a Giant Cypress DX, had about 32,000 miles on it when I retired it last year and gave it to a friend.

The foul weather replacement, a Giant Seek 0 2013, has about 1400 miles on it (IGH, it's a tank and I don't ride it one mile farther than I have to).
The road bike summer replacement, a Windsor Fens, has 4133 miles as of this morning.

All my bikes and all my miles are commuting. I haven't ridden strictly for pleasure for probably 30 years.

I have around 3770 miles or 6067Km or so. I am not totally sure. I replaced a chain this past September and I figured I had around 3200 on it. I am not totally sure how many miles I have ridden since then.

I think you are just showing off that you put your bike on your desk I wish I could put mine on my desk. Heck i just wish I had a folder!

I love this perspective. I would love to have a gps for mtn bike rides as well. what model do you have? what features do you recommend?

what are those canisters? Nitrous?

My '92 Cannondale T600 has 108,400 miles so far. My '95 Cannondale H600, the winter commuter, is at 20,000 miles. The latter goes through components at about the same rate, given the conditions I put it through.

In June 2012, I bought a KHS Tempe 29er and used it for most of the 5200km before I bought a Kona Sutra in Sept 2013 and most of the 4500km ridden since then have been on it (some, maybe 400km, has been on the KHS).

I don't separate commuting and non-commuting distances so I can't give those details although most, at least 85% of my riding is commuting.

My commuting bikes are like George Washington's hatchet - the head's been replaced twice, the handle five times, but it's still GW's hatchet! Both frames have been warranteed, and I don't worry about the small stuff (tires, brakes, chains) and only a little about the intermediate stuff (wheels, cranks).

So with that prelude, one bike has 18,000-25,000 miles on it, and the other has 29,000-41,000 miles.

Keeping track of mileage helps with maintenance; time to check the chain tonight, which is a good time to check rear tire wear (can't easily see it under the fender). I know one shifter needs to be rebuilt, that part's obvious.

I use the low end Garmin 200. It works great for speed and tracking mileage and routes. It does a lot more than that but I don't fuss with all the other features. I sort of like getting lost and not being dependent on electronics. After I can upload the rides to my computer to see the routes on a map which is great for planning future rides. What I like about most about the GPS based cyclo-computers is that I can have mounts (which are cheap) on all my bikes and I simply throw it on whatever bike I'm riding that day, same results. I really like the Garmin 200 a lot.

I'll pass 730 on my ride home tonight. I started this year, and haven't really been consistent. Some weeks I'll only ride in once, others, 3-4 times. It depends what is going on in my life, like if I have to mow the lawn, I am not riding to/from work that day, or am not feeling very well, etc etc. Lately I have been slacking. Time to get back into it in a big way, I think.

Riding Matthew - The canisters are oxygen tanks. Had a lung disease the legacy of which is that I need supplemental oxygen to ride. My ride is known at work as 'the hospital bike'.

My bikes don't have that many miles on them. But I did flip a bike that had at least 60,000 miles on it. Obviously, it needed a lot of work. Getting the seatpost free was a big job.

I also use a Garmin Edge 200. I like it. I rarely even use the route feature. I'm basically just logging distance and speed plus tracing my tracks.

I will probably regret this post.
My commuter is 31 years old and has an estimated mileage of 110,000 miles... (over 50,000 in the last 7 years)..... yes, I know.

It still has a lifetime warranty on the frame (was a Specialized Stumpjumper), even though it's my 4th frame (now Rockhopper).
The only original equipment are the handlebars, the Suntour friction shifters, and the large Shimano brake levers,
so really only those items and my body has that total mileage.

sorry you asked?

My 1984 Cannondale frame, fork, seat post and handle bars (original equipment) have many many miles! Two bottom brackets, three head sets, three brake upgrades, three shifters upgrades, many cassettes and chains and one front sprockets replacement, three new seats and 4 rims and hubs replace. Not to mention tires and brake pads. I really don't know how many miles!

3,000 mi since December on the new bike, but probably only 15-20% of those commuting (unless you consider taking the long way home "commuting")

The old Schwinn, no idea, but they were all most all commuting and every wearing part from the headset bearings to the freewheel have been replaced at least once.

My best guess, 8 miles a day, 125 days a year, 10 years, so about 10000 miles, plus any sporadic riding that I did before getting more serious about bike commuting.

That is strange notation. Do you mean ten thousand five hundred or one hundred five thousand?

Since last changing my computer just under three years ago my 1984 531c frame has covered just a smidgin under 15000 miles (I'm at just over 5000 miles this year), but I work from home now so my commute is my morning, lunchtime or evening 20-25 run (and I use 3 or 4 bikes depending on weather/mood)

I did commute and tour on that frame (for 12 years I did about 5-6000 miles a year just commuting) and it must have a fair bit over 100000 miles now.
