Front shelf rack for Sutra

1 Attachment(s)
I have a Kona Sutra (see below) that comes with a front rack. However, I'd like to use a different type of front rack, one that will both hang front panniers as well as have a shelf type top. The problem is, as you can see from the photo, the current front rack is designed to use the (optional) cantilever mounts as well as a pipe-type clamp around the rather thick forks. I've looked a bit but I can't find a front shelf rack that would work on this bike.

Help would be appreciated.

Old Man Mountain racks mount at the canti bolt and axle skewer.

It looks like the Sutra fork has dropout and mid-blade eyelets for standard front racks so you could use something like the Jandd Extreme, Blackburn MTF-1 (no lo-rider but good looking platform) or the Surly front rack or something.

If youve got the dough, the Surly Front Rack fits everything on the planet. It comes with every bit of hardware you could ever need.

For about half the price, I think the Jandd is the way to go (It's what I use). Worst case scenario, if the bolt holes don't line up, Consider fabricating some L-shaped brackets to attach to the canti bosses, or caliper brake mount hole or use (re-use?) those band style clamps for an upper mounting point.

Here is my Jandd front rack, from the right side of the fork and from just behind the right side of the fork (don't let the right side disc rotor throw you off). One mounting point right behind the axle, and the other is via aluminum brackets (the ones bracketed around orange electrical tape)- I don't remember if those brackets were included or if I pieced that together.

Also, due to the unique location of the brake caliper, I cut a gap in the rack's horizontal tube in the middle of the right side. You probably don't need to do such things on the Sutra.
