Cambium saddle destroying my pants!

I've been bicycle commuting for 4 years, 3.5 on a Brooks B67, about 5 months on a crap take off saddle, and the last month on a Brooks Cambium. I switched off the B67 because I could never solve the problem of the dye leaching into my clothes. I had been hoping that the Cambium would provide a comparable level of comfort without the dye problem--but now the saddle is tearing up my jeans. I never had any problems with the B67 in terms of wear on my pants, but in only a month on the Cambium I have significantly worn patches in my jeans. Help, help, help!

Put a Plastic Bag over it ... I like the plastic 2 layer Bladder out of a 5L box of Franzia. comes free, with over a gallon of decent California Wine.

Great idea! I'll give that a try.

The jeans are the problem. Always were.

Consider very lightly sanding the top to smooth out the fairly rough surface.

I have a leather brooks that has devoured several pairs of carhart shorts.

Clever. I never would have thought of that.

I like these covers. You can cover a leather saddle with it. I don't know if it stops the dye from leaching, but it can fool most would-be thieves. It makes any saddle look generic, and it doesn't affect comfort at all.

You can sell the saddle to me:)

I haven't had that problem with the Cambium, but then I don't ride in jeans much. I also ride a B-17 Aged, which hasn't bled onto my pants, but the best choice might be the B-17 Select.

I too think a cover should fix it. As a sustainability advocate, i'm not going to suggest wearing plastic pants if a smaller plastic or natural cover can be used.

Thanks for all the great replies! I'm going to try several of these approaches, and see which works best!

I know a lot of kids who pay tons for jeans in that condition. Maybe you can open a side business and sell them.
