We must about the same age because I remember this vividly, at the time I didn't speak English so I didn't understand what they were saying but I Watched it regularly. There was also this TV program with 5 people that were each riding a robot wolf/dog (or beast of some kind) and to defeat the vilain at the end of the program they would join together to form a giant robot. I don't remember the name but one Christmas I got the 5 of them and I was a very happy kid.
EDIT: I remembered, it's VOLTRON Voltron Opener - YouTube

I'm digging how this thread is quickly becoming a flashback thread for us 80's kids.

Matariki is the Māori name for the star cluster we know as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters. It's the name of my sailboat. Ever since I was a kid I would scan the sky for this cluster and feel a lot of excitement when I located it. Coincidentally, the seven stars are featured on the flag of my city, Durham, NC, also called the Bull City. Since the Pleiades are in the constellation Taurus, the bull, it's all connected.

Clyde1820's typical of the sort of naming I happen to do, when randomly picking a handle. Has no real meaning.
Found out soon after that "clyde" has a particular meaning among some. Who knew? :p |

I usually go by Solid Snake, but that was already taken by the time I showed up...

Absurd chalk is like absurd talk.

putupwet is typically what i do with my bike after i rodehard. "rodehard" was taken, and I typically don't really ride all that hard, so putupwet works well as a truthful observation on my daily bicycle commuting way up here in PNW. Also, I don't spend much time grooming my steed, so "rode hard and put up wet" still holds. that's about it. Looks like rain out there...

People from NC are called Tarheels, so obviously a cyclist from NC would be called a Tarwheel.
One of the local bike clubs is called the Carolina Tarwheels.

Yes, but some of us native North Carolinians are Dukies who blanch at the term. Still, your advice is always on-point, so I'll forgive it and hope you're a packbacker.
My last name is Deal, born on the 4th, and 1st real bike was a Fuji. Also works this way: I really like Fuji's and am always looking for a good deal on a Fuji. On the avitar, my favorite band is Metric, and it has cycling meaning too, so it also works on 2 levels. |
I'm an amateur cartoonist, so my avatar is from a doodling I did a while back.

Rick is my first name, easy enough, and OCRR is the club I ride for/with.
OCRR stands for Orange County Rebel Riders, who got their name by rebelling against the rules and politics of BCI (Bicycle Club of Irvine). The rebellion was before my time (I joined in '98) but the club name remains. I joined while I lived in Orange County; now I live in Whittier (Los Angeles county) but still ride with OCRR. this made me chuckle, very clever

surprisingly don't remember that one either as an 80s child would spent the summers either on the green Murray or in front of the television. Unsupervised summers, remember those...... a thing of the past

heh yeah MASK didn't catch on nearly as much as say, Transformers, but I've always loved motor vehicles of all kinds which is why MASK appealed to me in particular when I was a kid.

Mine's pretty self explanatory. My first custom, a Nervex lugged, canti all-arounder Peter Mooney. The bike I had my clubmate build me as an aid to my sanity for the years after my head injury. It succeeded. And went for some crazy rides in the process. Now it is semi retired. My good farmer's market bike and not a bad off road machine. It will always have that sweet Peter Mooney steering. At 35 years and 46,000 miles, it's earned its wings.
It's also a handle that's always there, so I'll stick to it. Ben |

http://www.fanboy.com/archive-images...-review-01.jpg I also got my butt kicked by Megagilas, MechaGhidorah, Kumonga, King Ghidorah, Hedorah, Gimantis, Gigan, Gabara, Gaborah, Ebirah, Destoroyah, Biollante and Battra. But the ultimate humiliation was getting defeated by Matthew Broderick in 1998. I was devastated for months. |
I assume that Telly is a diminutive for Telemakos, son of Odysseus and Penelope, heir to the throne of Ithaca.

Mr Flibble was a character (puppet) on the finest british comedy ever made-Red Dwarf. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it has a cult following some 25 years after it first aired. No relation to cycling-but rather unique!
