Best place to buy a lock in the PDX, OR area?
 

Anyone know of a place with a good selection of quality locks w/ fair prices? A lot to ask for, I know.

Try a couple of bike shops, especially those that have a lot of bike commuter stuff. Most shops around here have a very good selection.

you could try the usual suspect. REI, Bike Gallery, Performance, RiverCity. You should be able to find something close to you.

Portland's CityBikes ( http://www.citybikes.coop/ ) puts the "L" in "LBS."

In my experience you're going to pay about the same for a lock anywhere you go. I'd choose to support a place that's local and supports the community. City Bikes, as already mentioned is a sweet co-op. On the other side of town, the Community Cycling Center (on Alberta) turns your money into classes and bikes to teach young disadvantaged kids to be bike commuters. In this town there is no reason to support the chain stores for accessories (bikes themselves are another issue, IMO).
