44f, 10g15mph winds. but at least no rain. That's 20f below average. This has got to be the latest summer on record. Been commuting 3-4 days a week for a few months now and could use some warmth.
Lost my superflash sometime last week. Noticed it was missiing this morning, bummer. I'm going to have to figure out a better way to secure the clip.
New Rudy Project helmet! Very good fit.

Nice. Tried backpacking it rather than using panniers on my crosscheck. I liked the backpack better. Might be saving the panniers for seasons of larger luggage loads.

Did a short ~3 mile last night, or 4, don't really remember, on the way to and from a job. Had to train it into and out of the general area because I'm not a fan of doing like 20 or 10 one way in this humidity. Gatorskin rear is holding up and I'm happy for that alone.

I took the MTB/tug today and since it's light enough out and I wasn't in a hurry, I took the single track for the middle mile, rather than the fire road. I've never been through that stretch before, and found a lot of terrain I didn't know about, a few ramps but mostly berms. Fun!

Ended May with 486 miles. Biggest month so far this year, well, only 1.5 miles more than March actually.Warm and humid ride in this morning, but enjoyable. Afternoon thunderstorms are a possibility all week. We need the rain though, so I hope it happens. I'll get a rescue from the wife if it looks bad, otherwise I'll just get wet.
Nicest commute of the week this morning with temps in the 60s and little wind. Got lucky yesterday and avoided any thunderstorms. The weather is very humid here right now, so afternoon thunderstorms are always a possibility. Welcome to summer, even though it hasn't started officially.
Great ride this morning no rain even though they were calling for it.

Really nice ride in today. A little cool, but very enjoyable. Even stopped to help a fellow bike-commuter change a flat tire. Good deed done for the day.

Slightly cooler in DC this morning, a beautiful ride in on wet streets littered with storm debris.
Ride home yesterday on bike share was one for the books. I was caught is a massive storm with high winds and heavy rains. Tourists were running for cover, it was bedlam downtown.

The afternoon thunderstorms yesterday did not catch me yesterday. But the associated winds gave me a bit of a boost when it was not a cross wind.
A few rain drops were falling when I left the house this morning, but stopped before I was out of the neighborhood. Scattered showers yielded a few rain drops hitting me on the way in. It felt good when they did.
I took the MUP detour and saw this little guy hanging out. I'm not sure he was pleased with me extending my phone in his direction.

Same ride in today as yesterday. Cool temperatures and light tailwind. Ride home will be same as last night too: steady headwind, low T and some drizzle.

First commute since breaking my collarbone two weeks ago. The doctor said something about seeing what it feels like when I get on the bike, which I take as a green light to try it. Evidently I'm difficult to evaluate because of my unusual pain response.
The bone is still floating loose since I opted not to get it pinned, held roughly in place by the soft callus now forming. Basically cartilage fibers. So I kept it around 14 or 15 mph the whole way, lightly resting my hand on the bar flats. That seems to have worked, my having no extra pain now from the trip, or no change in the sensations in any event. In fact, it is somewhat relaxing to go slow and easy and get to work refreshed, but I can tell that I'm already getting out of shape. I'm probably looking at "slow and easy" for a couple of weeks, so I might as well enjoy it.

Yesterday's roundtrip time trial on my 1x7 crosscheck w/ pudgy tires, fenders, and generator hub was 1.5mph slower than Thursday's time trial on my 2x9 roadbike w/o fenders, getting me to work and back 3 minutes later than Thursday. I did go for a backpack yesterday so didn't saddle the crosscheck w/ the loads of panniers it would have in the winter.

Shooting for my first week of commuting all five days. As of right now, there's nothing on my calendar to stop me.
Utah's warming up. The mornings have been cool and sunny, the afternoons warm and sunny. Any day now it'll be down-right hot. Hey, at least it's a dry heat?

Nice day to commute to the old office, sunny and 55F. A little headwind, but that will be a nice tail wind for the ride home. It was nice to have a sunny, dry day to ride my newly refinished Mondonico, such a wonderful bike ... but not a typical commuter bike.
Thursday will be the last day biking to this office, then it will be 100% home office.

Had my first spill on the commute home last night, 50 degrees Fahrenheit and wet asphalt. I think it was the front tire that let go when I took the turn too fast, luckily I was in a parking lot so I didn't get run over. Sore hip and a little rash on my elbow but other than that all is well.

I rode with a coworker yesterday & on the way home it was nice but the wind really picked up and we started to ride faster and faster to beat rain. So weird to ride through downtown with wind hitting you cross ways at cross streets but nothing while riding down the block with buildings on both sides. i got home and had showered then it rained some. No thunderstorm which is nice.
Rode in the rain this morning. Started with rain coat but rain seemed to taper off so I took coat off and rode on like normal. Slower but still a good ride. I hope this afternoon is the same situation.

A little cooler this morning (65F) after some late evening thunderstorms rolled through last night. However, the 95% humidity made it like riding through a rain cloud with fog and occasional misting. I enjoyed it and the bit of a tail wind I had too.

I know that You will be with me
When I'm standing in the fire
I will not be overcome

Oh I will not fear

For some reason, I woke up 1/2 hour before my alarm and was wide awake, so I got an early start. Saw more commuters than usual on my route - maybe on average cycle commuters in my city are early risers? The 10C/50F temps felt a bit chilly on my bare arms at first, but I managed to warm up mid-ride.
