  • Prevention of eyewear fogging in the winter: Often various subscribers will post their remedy as THE SOLUTION, without describing their riding conditions, namely temperature and distance (time). I have found that often these simple solutions fail at colder temperatures.
I remember laughing at the opposite, some canadian with an average summer temp of low 80s talking about summer heat issues.

I appreciate that we have more choices now than ever before, but it often seems to come at the expense of marginalizing, if not outright disregard for the more relaxed and utilitarian side of cycling at the average LBS.
There's a couple LBS's in my town that don't even stock drop bar bikes, and stuff over $1000 is very unusual. Maybe you haven't found the right shop?

IMO, drop bar bikes and commuting are an excellent combination.

There are a few around here too, but naturally they aren't the ones local to me.

And IMO, I rather not ride than ride drops.
Different strokes for different folks, its all good, but it can be tiresome that drops and sports orientated bikes are predominate.

I don't think I've seen more than half the bikes in a shop be drop bars. Maybe it's regional. Lots of hybrids, MTBs or town/cruiser bikes here in shops.

Outside of MUPs or downtown most bikes I see being ridden are drop bar bikes though.

The high end drop bar bikes tends to be prominently displayed however.
