I work protection for a building downtown. I am an instructor (FTO, OC, Firearms, SRT, and general classroom). I am also an Assistant Security Systems Analyst. I kind of fell into that job when the previous Systems Analyst quit. My days can get quite busy, and the late night 20+ mile rides home save my sanity.

I've been working in the auto industry for 20 years: 6 as a mecanic, 13 as a technical advisor and for the last 6 month I'm now the shop foreman at the Granby Ford dealer, Formule Ford.
I was the wierd guy at every garage I worked: going around in something that DOESN'T burn gaz!!!!

Analyse and convert data from a large emergency department database into something doctors and nurses can comprehend. I work for the physicians and nurses of the emergency departments, not IT. The IT department is so dysfunctional, I look absolutely spectacular. I even have an office on the ground floor where I park my bike.

School Psychologist serving Pre-K thru 12th grade students in a large urban district. Most psychs in a district this size serve only elementary while some also have a middle school or a high school. Very few of us have an elementary, a middle school and a high school. At one time, all three of my buildings were in the same feeder group meaning I could theoretically follow a student from pre-K to graduation (I did follow one from 2nd grade to graduation...pretty cool experience).

No bike commuting for me as I live on the other end of a 30-35 minute, 60mph car commute. :(

Some interesting jobs you all hold.. myself my official title is security systems technician. What I actually am is a server admin, SQL admin, computer tech, construction project manager, project manager.. and in any free time I do a little low voltage work. It's quite hectic but having ADHD or something like that fits me well.

I teach at an International Pre-school/Kindergarten in Japan. I love what I do, it's very rewarding, except for the financial aspect, doh.

I coordinate academic training for Naval Electricians. I ensure they get the proper background in electric circuits, electric motors, microprocessors, and distributed control systems to understand and repair the equipment aboard ship.

On-Site Manager for print/mail services for a medium sized law firm downtown. I used to work at a very large health insurance company but now my commute is one mile from my apartment and this job is far less stress with a slight increase in pay.

I go to school for web design.

Probably commutes by car, but he designs them too, though cycling is his recreational oulet.

For the last seventeen years, I worked in research studying pedophilia in a large psychiatric hospital. Budget cuts meant my job was gone and I was laid off. With no prospects of finding work like this again at least not in this city, I stated graduate school in a new field. At the age of 55 I am the oldest in my Masters of Social Work Program and I will be 58 when I graduate. After graduation I will work in the same field but now instead of research I will work with a treatment team for sexual offenders. Not exactly how I planned my life but you have to adapt to bumps in the road.

I retired early a few years ago and took up cycling in 2013 after decades off the bike.

The last few months, however, I've worked part-time at our local University as a "Standardized Patient", a sort of medical actor assisting with student education and testing. In those roles I have, for example, been a distraught husband, had gallstones, bone cancer, mini-strokes, angina, and led a high-risk gay lifestyle. The irony is that with my regular cycling and improved diet etc. I'm healthier now vs my age than since my '20s.

The commute is 3.1 miles each way (through a 120' river valley) and I've cycled every time. Friday was a refreshing -7°C/20°F with a west wind. My intention is to ride it all winter. The studs are on.
