Leatherman Tread: Nice concept but is it of any use for everyday commuter cyclists.
My tools end up pretty mucky after use. Do I really want my shirt cuffs oil-stained for extra manliness?

I'll stick to the standard leatherman or other brand multitool.

Was it intended to be used by cyclists? I don't see any indication of that. I certainly wouldn't want to wear a heavy bracelet while cycling.

From what I gather, it exists because of air travel, or more correctly, because of the security theater that has turned us all into frightened little bunnies and made air travel just that much more unpleasant than it already was.

Honestly, it's a piece of jewelry and a novelty, and clearly was intended as such. I doubt anyone is buying one because they think it'll be more convenient or better than an actual leatherman. If it was more like $50 I'd probably buy one just because I like the look. I might use it occasionally but just for fun.

I always wipe my tools clean when finished using them, so greasy cuffs (or wrists) would not be a concern. But yeah, not a good bike tool even if it is kinda cool.

As a cycling multi tool it's missing some pretty key bits. Only a 5 and 6 mm hex drive, english hex drives? no torx bits, and no chain breaker among other things.

I get the novelty, it's cool looking and I think the design is clever, but $150 is steep.

If buying that didn't mean sacrifycing anything else (holiday, food, bills etc), I'd get one with a wrist watch as well.

Swiss army knife is a bit better for camping (toothpick and a bottle opener especially), but for most other things, this is what I love having handy.

The wrist thing, with a watch would be always there, instead of the watch, with some cool tools at hand. :)

An interesting concept for a folding tool, but I wouldn't try to wear it. I wouldn't buy it only because I want my bike multi tool to have a chain breaker, and it seems to have a lot of irrelevant non-metric size tools. I typically pack a cheap Wal-Mart knockoff Leatherman for the pliers, scissors and knife that my folding bike tool doesn't have.
