SPD shoes for wide feet

I've very wide (EEE) feet. Any suggestions for a good wide SPD shoe? I'd like something that is an all purpose shoe that I can walk around a bit in. Also interested in hearing about shoes that didn't work for wide feet.

Here are a couple of discussions on RBR.
Cycling shoes for wider feet
Cleated Bike Shoes for Wide forefoot with narrow heel. SL-2 last.

I have had good luck with Shimano and Specialized shoes.

I have a pair of Nike bike shoes that are made for people with pointed toes.

Have you gone to your LBS and tried on shoes?

I buy my shoes a size too big. If the result is too much room in the shoe, I add an insole.

My recent experience with Shimano shoes was good, the model was the SH-CT80. If you look at the Shimano website essentially every model they consider recreational or for touring has a wide last of some sort. At least one of the performance oriented mountain shoes also comes in wide sizes as well.

I have wide feet and the Specialized Tahoe fit me well. Some of the Specialized now come in wide sizes too.

I purchased mine at my LBS. For me, there's no substitute for trying on shoes.

I also have wide feet, see Shimano has a wide version of the Shimano M089.
