Las Vegas empty

I was on the phone today with my son as he drove his semi through the heart of downtown Las Vegas at posted speed limit .The closest car was a couple blocks ahead of him . No people. No glitzy lights, He said it was quite strange. He said later going west the desert was teaming with dirt bikes.
Sounds like Vegas would be some easy riding at this time if you like concrete desert. .

San Antonio is now on lockdown. Except for essentials like getting groceries...

Do you know if he was on Las Vegas Blvd (aka 'The Strip' ) or on I-15? The big hotel-casinos are on the Strip, and I-5 parallels it. I-15 usually is not a problem to drive on if you're just passing through Las Vegas. The Strip is a whole other world - an endless stream of cars, cabbies, and assorted kooks that really turns into crazy town in the evening. A semi truck driver wouldn't want to be on The Strip unless he was making a delivery, and then just during daytime hours.

The Strip has been on lockdown since last week. Casinos are closed. Roads are pretty much empty.

He was on the Las Vegus Bulvd. driving past the Mandalay Bay he said. and closest car 2 blocks away. The only people he seen were a scattered line at a hugely popular burger joint take out window. He said he wouldn't think of driving the strip in normal times. No cars to speak of on the interstate either. Just an endless string of trucks headed toward Las Angeles. Very strange times
