We'll likely see spike protein drift over the years.
Hopefully vaccines are being developed so that new spike proteins can be patched in.
Nonetheless, efforts to contain this new strain are admirable.

A lot of talk about vaccine efficacy. But, the other issue is that some of the best treatments that are available (soon) are synthetic antibodies.
These should be tested on multiple strains of the virus. Do they target spike proteins, or target other aspects of the virus?
Of course, the Danish survivors could donate antibodies for the next batch of antibodies, but that could set us back quite some time.
