Alcohol and Covid-19
There's a damn good reason why bars and places serving alcohol should be shut when Covid-19 is not under control in a community...... Alcohol induced hearing loss. Basically drunk people go deaf, so they inevitably start shouting, then with all the yelling, they have to step closer together to hear each other... no chance of stopping that, what with the lowered inhibitions and poor decision making that comes with being drunk. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2031886/
It also explains drunk people staggering into the house, going SHHHHHHHH at each other at 120 decibels, they have no idea how loud they are.

Couldn't we just merge and formalize the suggestion of Dr, Trump back in April with the best interests of drinking establishments? Simply require that those who enter not be allowed to leave until their blood alcohol reaches an antiseptic level for the virus.

Having a beer with my only friend the Snow Lady
there is no way she has COVID-19. Will be some boring months ahead but hopefully this will pass. See what happens.

Russians asked to abstain from drinking for 8 weeks;
https://eu.jsonline.com/story/news/h...mp/6481339002/
Russia is beginning mass vaccinations as well. But there is a hitch: Recipients aren't supposed to drink alcohol for almost two months. That's a tough ask in a country where some polls indicate only about 25% of the population was willing to get vaccinated.
Putin has heralded the Russian vaccine as the world's first, but distrust of the medical establishment has tamped down the public appetite for it. Tens of thousands of Russians have been vaccinated, including many health care workers and members of the military.
