Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbround Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Ye olde Gravel Grinder

Bought this 1980 DBS with DA EX last winter. Put on some cheap wheels and a set of 28mm Kenda Kwik-Roller tires. I believe the tubing is Aelle R and the bike is a lot slower than my other roadbikes and and feels "sluggish" on tarmac.
However on hardpack gravel it is quite another bike. Had some great rides this weekend on hardpack fireroads and this was a very good bike for those conditions! Soaked up the smaller bumps and felt fast and cornered very well.
(pictures are from quite a while back)

Great to see an older road bike get repurposed . The beauty of a gravel grinder is there is no one bike for all.

Every bike can be a gravel bike.
