Wicked Wilson 100 - Central Kansas
Who said Kansas was flat, I rode in the Wicked Wilson 100 yesterday. The ride actually turned out to be 113 miles with around 8,000 feet of climbing in the Smokey Hill region of Kansas. This was by far the hardest bike ride I have ever done and I feel very fortunate to have finished.
FYI - I rode DK 100 this year to completion and this was actually much harder than DK. The ride takes place the second Saturday in September every year (this was year 3). If you are looking for a real challenge next fall you need to put this on your list.

That looks like a REALLY hard race! I used to spend my summers in Hays KS so I know that area well, definitely not flat

The WW was my first gravel event. I chose the 59 mile tour. There is no way I would have made the long route. I am pleased I finished in 5 hours. Had a lot of fun though. Congrats to the winner and all participants. I live in the county north, we have hills but not that big. Very well run event.
