Shimano FD-CX70 Cyclo-Cross Front Derailleur and triple crankset question

Is anyone running a top pull Shimano Ultegra FD-CX70 Cyclo-Cross Front Derailleur and a smaller triple crankset on their cross bike? I've got a 46-36-24 crankset up front and would like to eliminate the small pulley wheel on the back of the seat tube necessary for my present down pull triple FD and wonder if I can get decent shifting from this top pull. Posted in bike mechanics as well.
As always, thank you for your input.

The CX70 is designed for a double crankset, so it probably would not work with a triple. You would probably have to move the limit screws all the way in and out to get it to work, and the shifting would be unlikely to be that good. You would be better off with a triple front derailleur - perhaps you can find a triple top-pull FD designed for mountain bike use.
