Steel, hydro disc gravel frame or complete

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I thought Shimano made hydraulic disc brake calipers that worked with the IS mounts?

They probably have mountain versions, but I believe all road are "flat mount".

From SRAM Flat Mount brakes are here - BikeRadar USA that article, in the first (non bold) paragraph, it states

"While Flat Mount frames can mount standard brakes with adapters, Flat Mount calipers are not backwards compatible with existing IS and post-mount frames."

So... I checked with competitive cyclist, and was told, indeed, it is not possible. Unless someone knows of a version of the road hydro's that are not flat mount, I am out of luck.

i posted in your other thread, shimano makes hydraulic post mount road disc calipers. Should work with ISO with a converter.

You are correct, I wasn't aware of that. All of the articles I read mentioned Shimano using all flat mount, I was mistaken. Those are more expensive than the RS505's, I'll have to see if I can stretch my budget.

The "old" Shimano 785 post mounts are readily available.

I did read that thread, and while interesting to read, it wasn't relevant to me as you say. I have a Traitor Wander sitting in my garage, and the parts are all being delivered this week and next, and when I am back from I trip I will be putting it all together! Pretty excited.
