Building a bike - rear cable hanger question

I am almost done with building my wife's cross bike based on a Planet X Kaffenback frame. The one thing I didn't pay enough attention to was the rear brake cable hanger. I bought a Salsa lip lock seat post collar, but didn't think about how I was going to attach a cable hanger. All I can find in my LBS is a hanger that is supposed to hang from the opening of the seat post collar. Unfortunately on the Salsa lip lock there isn't quite enough room in there - if I force the hanger in the collar then it won't tighten up enough to hold the seat post in place. Is my only solution to buy a new seat collar with wider spacing, or does anybody have a brilliant yet simple solution? Any recommendations for a seat collar that will work well?

I notice on my Poprad the hanger is integrated into the seat clamp - but I couldn't find any of these in an online search.

Thanks

I think you may have it made, I think that the Kaffenback uses a 26.8mm seatpost, so you could be able to use a 1-1/8" steer tube hanger, the kind that has a clamp screw.

It's actually a 27.2 mm seatpost - is it still possible to use a 1 1/8 steering tube hanger?

You have come to the right place, my son...

IIRC, the Kaffenback is pretty much the same as the Il Pompino, which I have. Running canti's you'll have the same problem as me, the small frame (48?) doesn't have a lot of space to work w/. You'll need some type of rear hanger, I used this:

Hanger

along w/ a Woodman clamp. I had to file down part of the hanger flat because it was too big to put onto the seat tube w/ the clamp. You can see that there's not a lot of hanging room but it works. These XT's have been stellar, BTW.
