IS52 Crown race - which way is up?

Trying to get my headset together. Did I install this upside down? It doesn't look right when the fork is installed into the headtube.

You've got it on the right way but it should be pushed down more so that it's bottomed out on the fork. Then the fork will insert more into the head tube and take away that gap.

- the gap I'm looking at is between the lower headtube and the blue seal on the crown race. I assume the seal is supposed to be further up into the headtube to actually seal something? That would require the lower bearing to move further up into the headtube. I assume the lower bearing seat is machined and cannot be pressed further into the frame.

Any Ideas?

Are you sure you have the bearing in the right way? The relief or chamfered edge should face the crown race. That's the only thing I can think of. Otherwise you have the wrong bearing thickness.
