I was exploring a side road and surprised a group of about eight boars! They seemed as startled as I was and I didn't stick around to take pictures.

Burned through two bottles and a 70 oz camelbak in about four hours and used a Sawyer filtration system to filter water from a beautiful mountain stream.

I think shoota was being tongue in cheek. I only have around 600 miles total ridden this year on all my bikes and about 35000 feet of elevation according to my year to date strava stats. That's approximate but very close. Your ride trumps my all time best ride of 51 miles with 4885 feet of elevation so kudos to you sir! Nice job well done....

My ride yesterday. Taxing to say the least. Very hot and muggy and I got dehyrated. I found this Catalpa tree all by itself along a level B road.

It was the Conasauga River at the end of the ride.

Felt sooooo good. I just wanted to drink the whole river.

The Steamboat Ditch is only a 10 or 11 mile out-n-back, but it's close to home and makes a nice afterwork ride on a rest day.

that's a nice distance for a gravel ride, especially if there's some climbing. enough to get your heart going for a cpl hrs but not an endurance ride

Few pics from my Tour De Heifer metric w/ 7600' climbing in Vermont sunday. perfect weather, bit overcast, no rain. Rode 98% only had to walk a few short bits of class 4 road that I didn't have the skill for.

(had to walk this one.. tough entry onto it. then was soft mud and random rocks

Easier class 4... had 2 rock steps I couldn't figure out but was happy I rode most of it

Impressive.

I had to look up the term "Class 4 road" and learned something today.

The crazy part is the road continues on that nutty berm to the right. The left side is a private driveway. it only got more hectic from there, haha.

Yeah, I'm learning that gravel riding typically works that way.

The road you need to get where you are going is not the one you would choose.

Not my pic, I wasn't there for this ride, but I'm going to do the route as a solo ride when the roads clear. Gran Fondo Leavenworth.
