When they can't be bothered to bring rocky aggregate or grading equipment, they surface the road with flowers!

Had a nice 20+miler this morning. Crashed while playing around in the jumps but all good even if I hit my head on the ground.

The following pictures are from one of my main local rides. The Bloede dam use to occupy the site where my bike sits. A few years ago DNR removed the dam to allow the Patapsco river flow freely, a few new rapids can now be run in canoes and biking can be found on both sides of the river, one short gravel/dirt section. here's a video of the actual blasting of the dam.
https://dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/p...sident%20fish.

This use to be underwater!

These rocks are the former dam location

I dont know what technically constitutes a drought, but boy it sure seems like we are in one.
Took this earlier today during a snack break. Everything on both sides of every road is covered in gravel dust. Seems way more and a lot higher up than in a random dry spell.

I don't know if 3 miles of gravel in a 16 mile ride counts as a "gravel ride," but there was gravel and cows and the sky was pretty, and I could access all this right from my house in the middle of town, so thought I'd share.

Its worth it to just see the criss cross conversion. Riddler tires, Microshift shifters, and depression rd? Nice!

Please take some of our rain. We are as green as Ireland, we should have brown lawns that don't need to be cut. Nice dusty bike picture, mine usually have mud on them these days.

Rode a gorgeous road today. There was one spot where the view opened up in multiple directions and you could just see everything everywhere. Mt Baker through the hills on the left side, Whitehorse and Three Fingers to the right of the center-right cluster of trees, Lake Cavanaugh overlooked by Frailey Mountain, the round top of nearby Bald Mountain visible above the trees on the right side...

Mt Rainier was also visible and got in on the fun, but it wasn't picked up well by the camera. It's on the horizon toward the right side of the image. Contrast boost:

And the road kept on delivering. Farther along, looking toward Baker:
