I’ve been riding the multi surface trails in my town on a gravel bike for 12 years or so...and at least once a year I find a new spur. My new Fargo rode through this section as smoothly as my old (insert 5+ bikes) with 40mm +\- (tubeless!) rolled on pavement. And my tires are not currently set up tubeless.

much of the property in our surrounding area has been sold and developed - but there are still a few pockets to explore

My typical Tuesday "Happy Hour" ride (9mi/1500') is usually on my MTB. Yesterday, I did it on my gravel bike. Comparing gravel bike vs. MTB data for the 2.5mi climb (which includes some fairly rocky and rutted sections), I found that the better speed of the gravel bike on the smooth sections didn't make up for the slower speed through the rough sections.

Not really. My MTB is a hardtail, so it's not exactly a magic-carpet ride. I'm also able to ride the MTB faster than the gravel bike through rougher terrain, so my body is still getting beat up about the same amount. That said, in just a 1-hour ride, any difference is not recognizable to me.

Newbie

Questionable route choices.

Forest gravel highway.

Some snaps from recent/decent gravel rides.
