Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

$58.30 with free shipping. I got them through Google Express. There was a 20% off "Happy New Year" coupon.

Shockstop Computer mount

After USPS detoured my shipment to Guam and Hawaii, my Shockstop Computer mount arrived. Modified it to add a gopro mount underneath for lights. Much cleaner attachment

The Gravel King slicks showed up yesterday. Mounting was a bit tight, but after realizing these tires are directional, having to mount the front one twice because of that, and breaking two cheap tire levers in the process, I finally got it figured it out on the third shot. I am a bit glad I went through this because I will need this knowledge and experience if I ever get a flat when I am miles away from home. Now I am considering matching the saddle and the bar tape to the brown sidewalls, but I doubt that will happen because the Fabric Scoop saddle isn't available in brown, and even if it were, I don't think it would be a very attractive saddle.

Now it is going back into the basement until better weather comes

Just bought this little bad boy...in black. I was getting tired of yelling "on your left," so I just stopped notifying trail-walkers. Then I had a guy scream at me as I rode by him because I surprised him.

great bell. I tried the knock off for a second bell and it died an early death.
Original is still going strong. If you have the have the silver one, keep a coat of wax on it. It is some sort of brass alloy that can corrode slightly.

They euphemistically call that a patina. No worries though, I bought the black one. I have it mounted facing down on my Jones H-Bar, by the left brake lever, as I found that was the most convenient location. The Spurcycle bell is guaranteed for life!

small bags for long trips

Using the bike far more than I originally thought I would so added some small bags and an extra water pouch for the all day trips.

If you want a lower cost alternative that's not a cheap knock-off, I highly recommend Crane E-Ne, especially brass models. I got "Neo Black" polished brass, and it looks fantastic and has great sustain.

Buying up the last little odds and ends for the new build. Cable housing pieces, down tube cable stops, etc. The parts are starting to slowly come in. Wheels are due in tomorrow, hoping the frame will arrive at my LBS some point this week too. Doubt I'll have enough to get it done by the weekend, but hoping to have a good start to the drivetrain.

Five Ten Guide Tennies (I ride flat pedals). Have been a Freerider guy for a while(after they discontinued the Aescents) but the Guide Tennies are really marked down right now, like almost 1/2 off, and I've always wanted to try 'em. Hoping they'll feel good(not too bulky) on the gravel bike, and also serve as a good hiking/all-around outdoor shoe.

Walked into shop looking to buy a tire and walked out with a Santa Cruz Stigmata. The price was just too good to pass up (46% off).

700x40 Maxxis Rambler in rear and 650x2.1 Thunder Burt in front.
